Demolition update

  • R Collard has started demolition of McGrigor Barracks in Aldershot. Constructed in 1895, they were named after Sir James McGrigor, who was the Duke of Wellington’s Surgeon-General. The development involves the construction of almost four thousand new houses from affordable housing through shared ownership and private rentals and sales.

 

  • The contract for the demolition of several buildings on the former GSK (GlaxoSmithKline) and J Lyons site in Greenford Middlesex was signed recently. The project, worth over £3million signifies the start of the redevelopment of the site that will take six years to complete and will include almost 2000 new homes, a school, nursery, offices and leisure facilities together with a NHS operated health centre.

   

  • The demolition of Dennis Pilcher House a two storey old peoples home in Bracknell with a demolition value of £80,000 has now started.

 

  • The demolition of an existing dining room at Ibstock Place School in Roehampton South West London is underway. This will allow the construction of a new refectory building.

 

  • The demolition of a single story brick built Humanities Block at St John the Baptist School in Woking has also begun.

 

  • A demolition project at Ufford Street in South East London has started and involves the soft strip and demolition of a single storey yellow brick building.
