Collard Racing news

Rob’s strong start continued for BMW in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Donington on 16th April with another podium finish.

Rob’s home circuit of Thruxton also proved extremely successful with a win in race two at his home circuit on Sunday 7th May. Rob said: “It feels fantastic to get a victory so early in the season and to do it at my local circuit – especially as Thruxton isn’t a track we expected to win at. We’ve worked hard to maximise not just the starts, but the early laps, and the results have been very good today. With the full ballast of 75kg in Race Three it was always going to be difficult to finish well, so seventh was a very useful haul of points to add to those achieved earlier in the day and it means we go to Oulton Park – a track we’re normally strong at – in very good shape.”

BMW driver Ricky Collard secured both the overall win and triumphed in the Junior standings on Sunday 30th April at Oschersleben. The 20-year-old made a superb debut in the Super Sports Car League this weekend. After taking third place in the Junior classification on Saturday, Collard proved unbeatable on Sunday. He secured victory overall from pole position in the BMW M6 GT3 fielded by BMW Team Schnitzer and then also triumphed in the category for drivers under 25 years. Despite being harried from behind, Collard kept his cool in the final period after a safety car period and drove comfortably to victory.

“The weekend went like a dream. My first race weekend in the ADAC GT Masters, and already a first victory!” said Collard. “That was not an easy race. I came under a lot of pressure from the Corvette towards the end, but I withstood it. Many thanks to BMW and BMW Team Schnitzer for the confidence they've placed in me.”

Jordan Collard had a strong weekend at Donington, he had his best result of the weekend finishing 7th in race two at Thruxton where he carried the ITV cameras onboard his Simpson Race Products Ginetta Junior giving excellent coverage of the skills needed to drive at the Hampshire track.

Catch all the action live on ITV4 on Sunday 21st May when Rob and Jordan both race in the BTCC at Oulton Park
